Who sends the messages

HQPodium is a software platform used by youth sports academies to run their business. Academies use it to send text messages to the parents and guardians of their own athletes — reminders about scheduled lessons and practices, notices about schedule changes and cancellations, payment reminders, and replies to questions parents have asked. Messages are sent by the academy the family registered with. HQPodium does not send marketing or promotional text messages, and does not text anyone who is not an existing customer of one of these academies.

How parents opt in

Consent is collected by the academy on its own website, which is built and hosted on the HQPodium platform. When a parent registers their athlete for a season, signs up for tryouts, or books a lesson, they enter their mobile number and check the box below. The box is unchecked by default, and consent is never a condition of registering, booking, or purchasing anything.

Message frequency and cost

Message frequency varies — typically fewer than 10 messages per week, depending on how often the athlete trains and whether the academy's schedule changes. Message and data rates may apply. HQPodium does not charge parents anything for text messages; any charges come from the recipient's own mobile carrier.

How to opt out, and how to get help

Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe. You will receive a single confirmation and no further messages. Reply START to resubscribe. Reply HELP for help, or email support@hqpodium.com. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

What we collect, and what we do with it

For text messaging we collect the parent or guardian's mobile phone number, their consent and the time it was given, and the content and delivery status of the messages sent to and from them. This is used for one purpose only: to deliver the messages the academy sends and to record that the recipient asked to receive them. Mobile numbers are disclosed only to the messaging subcontractor that transmits the messages on our behalf.
